Dimethylglycine, also known as DMG, is a natural substance found in both plant and animal cells, and is derived from the amino acid glycine (see reference 1 under Clinical Summary para 1). As a supplement, it is purported to offer a number of health benefits, from enhancing physical performance to improving behavior in children with autism and attention deficit disorder. However, the evidence to support these claims is lacking, according to the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (see reference 1 under Mechanism of Action).
How DMG Works
A few words to help you get to know us. DMG is an award-winning group of digital media professionals based in Sydney. We are creative and design specialised and find out where you are today, so we can design for where you need to be tomorrow.
The body produces DMG in the cells by breaking down choline (see reference 1 under Clinical Summary). In the body, it acts as an antioxidant and improves oxygenation of the cells (see reference 1 under Clinical Summary). The thought is that taking DMG as a supplement may further enhance oxygenation, which improves athletic performance (see reference 1 under Clinical Summary). It is also thought to act as a neurological stimulator, which is why it has gained popularity in the autism community (see reference 1 under Clinical Summary). According to an October 2009 review article on the use of complementary medicine in autism published in 'Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Clinics,' the two clinical trials testing the use of DMG on children with autism showed no positive effect or improvement in behavior (see reference 2 under DMG).
Safety Concerns
DMG is considered a safe and non-toxic substance, according to MSKCC (see reference 1 under Clinical Summary). If you're supplementing your diet with DMG, be sure to inform your doctor to monitor for any potential side effects or interactions. Additionally, while it's safe to take DMG, do not rely on it as a cure or treatment for any illness.

A female figure in ablue and pink outfit with pink miniskirt snuck quietly towards theexit. Her long, blonde hair shimmered. Dark Magician Girl, nicknamedDMG or Mags, reached for the handle…
'Correct me if I'mwrong,' intoned a voice from behind her, 'But after last night'sdisastrous escapade, weren't you grounded?'
The Dark Magicianstepped out of the shadows of the corridor. DMG gulped audibly.
'S-Sensei.'
Dark Magician smirked.
'For futurereference, A: I'm a very light sleeper, and B: You should waituntil you hear me start snoring before assuming I'm asleep.'
DMG grinned sheepishly.

'I'm in deep crudnow, aren't I?'
'Oh, yeah. Bed. Now.We can discuss punishment in the morning.'
'Okay, but I feelobliged to point out that last night wasn't that bad.'
'Mags, they had tocall out the $%&^#! Elemental Heroes to break up the riot. Youtotaled an entire city block, which, might I add, contained the homesof Blue Eyes, Red Eyes, Seiyaryu, Summoned Skull, AND CelticGuardian. Blue Eyes and Red Eyes nearly had a midnight snack on thespot!'
'At least the city isstill standing this time,' Dark Magician Girl replied.
Dark Magician justsighed, shook his head, and, picking her up, threw her over hisshoulder and headed for her room.
The next morning, DMGwas talking to her friends on the phone.
'So, you guys gonnahelp me bust out? I'm going stir-crazy!' Her friends agreed, andplans were hatched.
That evening, WarriorDai Grepher burst in while DM and DMG were eating dinner.
'There's a tornadocoming! Get to the storm shelter!'
DMG jumped up and ranout of the dojo, followed by Dai.
A few minutes later,DMG and Dai were walking down the sidewalk.
'That was brilliant,Dai!' DMG gushed.
'Not really.'
DM stepped out of analleyway.
'How do you DO that?'
DM ignored this.
'I just remembered.We don't have a storm shelter.'
DMG winced.
'You…remembered,huh?'
'And we don't gettornadoes in this part of the country.'
'We don't?'
DM gestured in thedirection of the dojo.
'Home. Now. Strikeone.'
The next evening, asDMG was heading to bed, she grabbed at her heart and collapsed. A fewseconds after DM called the doctor, a seemingly German man with athick mustache and even thicker beard came in through the door.
'You got here awfulquick,' DM said suspiciously.
'Thot iss my job, dumbkophf,' was the terse reply.
The doctor checked DMGover for a few minutes, and then picked her up.
'Iss bad. I takefraulein to hospital, ja?'
'Nien.'
DM grabbed the hat offof the doctor's head. Elemental Valkyrie pouted as he then tore offher false beard and mustache. DMG stopped playing possum.
'Sorry, Mags,' Valsaid. 'I guess you're stuck.'
'Strike two.'
Minutes later, DMGheard a THUNK outside her window. She opened it to find a ladderresting against the house. She rushed down it, and raced to catch upto her friends.
'You guys are great! How did you get that ladder past Sensei's eagle eye?'
'Ladder? What ladder?Dai, you don't think…'
'Nah. It couldn'tbe.'
As the trio walked outof sight, the air near the ladder shimmered. Dark Magician shook hishead, chuckling and smiling ruefully.
'Kids today,' hemuttered. 'They can't even sneak out without help.'
